After 14 years of preparation, training and hands-on
field management, Pat Ortiz decided to leave Kasler
Corporation and start a construction company of his own.
In 1986, Ortiz Enterprises, Inc. opened its doors and
immediately began bidding on work and building a client
base. A nucleus of key personnel was formed as contracts
were awarded, and work on major freeway projects was
underway. Many of those key people are the backbone of
today's management team.
Initially, the company specialized in roadway and
structure excavation, structure backfill, and fine grade
jobs on highway projects. Later, as the company's
reputation and balance sheet grew, we expanded into
other areas such as crushing concrete and asphalt for
road base. Recently, the company has successfully bid
and built flood control and structure concrete projects.
Steady well-planned growth has brought us to the point
where we regularly bond major public works projects.

two-story modern office building located in the Spectrum
Business Park in Irvine, California.
