 A fleet of modern, well-maintained equipment supports project management as the company works on a wide variety of freeway, flood control, and commercial projects. We also own and operate specialty recycling equipment which produces road-base materials for our own jobs as well as outside customers.

Recycling and Crushing Plant
 In the fall of 1994, Ortiz Enterprises, Inc., continuing to diversify operations, took delivery on a brand new, state-of-the-art crushing plant. This new plant featured an impactor crusher, a three-deck screen, magnet and waste chute, a secondary cone crusher, various conveyor belts, conveyor belt scale, generator van with Cat power, and a 988F Cat Loader. We immediately put this equipment to work on two large interchange projects for the California Department of Transportation: The 5/405 Interchange (The El Toro "Y") and the 5/55 high level interchange. The results were so spectacular (the first year: no failing gradation tests and 95% availability on the equipment) that bidding jobs with the opportunity to recycle broken asphalt and concrete has become a top priority. Now, nearly 12 years later, the same plant is still working every day, still making quality miscellaneous base. Our experienced and knowledgeable crew maintains 99% passing tests on gradation and manages a reliable and low down-time operation.
